Why Klamath Falls is a Good Place to Live
Is Klamath Falls a Good Place to Live?Klamath Falls, Oregon is a beautiful, rural community set in the high desert of southern Oregon. With clean air and a temperate climate for year-round outdoor recreation, Klamath Falls is a great place to live, work, and play. In addition to its scenic nature, the community is strong with sustainable health improvement plans addressing top issues and local initiatives promoting the overall well-being. In more recent years, local groups such as Klamath Trails Alliance, Klamath Lake Land Trust, Discover Klamath, and Klamath Wingwatchers, Inc. have helped add to the vitality of our beautiful natural spaces through efforts focused on the developing and preserving the biking, hiking, kayaking, and bird watching available to those who live and recreate in the Klamath Basin. Healthy Klamath supports these projects wholeheartedly, as research continues to show how important the great outdoors are to our overall sense of well-being and community pride. Community Health Priorities in Klamath FallsKlamath Falls is committed to collaboration and improving the health and livability of the city. With sustainable community health improvement plans addressing top priority health issues and concerns like food insecurity, housing, and maternal and childhood health, efforts are coordinated and resources are allocated to improve the health and well-being of Klamath County. In 2018, Klamath County was recognized on a national level for this commitment, and awarded with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Culture of Health Prize. This prize recognized Klamath Falls as being a community investing in powerful partnerships and making a deep commitment to enable everyone the opportunity to live well. Complementary to the work recognized by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 2018, is the more recent announcement that Klamath Falls has received the honor of being named a certified Blue Zones Community®.
